FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q How does Kordel’s Agewise Muscle Cramps Formula help to relax tense muscles?

A Magnesium is the 4th most abundant mineral in the body involved in a wide range of key biological processes such as nerve conduction, muscle activity, immunity and blood vessel tone.

Magnesium helps to protect against muscular discomfort caused by stress and nervousness by helping relaxation. Many people report Magnesium helps them to sleep better and reduce muscle tension particularly in the neck and shoulders.

Q What are the symptoms of a Magnesium deficiency?

Common symptoms of low Magnesium levels include:

  • Muscular cramps, spasms and weakness
  • Disrupted sleeping patterns
  • Heart problems
  • Moodiness and irritability
  • Decreased attention span
  • Panic and fright attacks
  • Sensitivity to loud noises
  • Eye twitches

Q How much Magnesium do I need every day?

A The recommended daily Magnesium intakes for men aged 31-70 years and above is 420mg, and for women aged 31-70 years and above is 320mg.1

Q  Who may need extra Magnesium?

A Magnesium supplementation may be indicated when a specific health problem or condition causes an excessive loss of Magnesium or limits Magnesium absorption.  Some medicines can cause a Magnesium deficiency, including certain diuretics and antibiotics. Individuals with poorly-controlled diabetes may benefit from Magnesium supplements because of increased Magnesium loss in urine associated with hyperglycaemia.

Magnesium supplementation may be indicated for heavy alcohol users or alcoholics, as blood levels of Magnesium are depleted in alcoholics. Individuals with chronic malabsorptive problems such as Crohn’s disease, gluten sensitive enteropathy, regional enteritis, and intestinal surgery may lose Magnesium through diarrhoea and fat malabsorption. Individuals with these conditions may need supplemental Magnesium.

Older adults are also at increased risk for Magnesium deficiency due to lower dietary intakes compared with younger adults.

Q How does vitamin D3 support my muscles?

A Several studies show a vitamin D3 deficiency can produce muscle weakness and pain. Vitamin D3 protects bone density and because it is needed for strong muscles, it may also help protect the elderly against falls. Recent studies show vitamin D3 can also help protect against back pain in older women.2

Q What are the benefits of OptiMSM™?

A Dimethyl Sulfone (aka Methylsulfonylmethane) (MSM) is a naturally occurring Sulphur compound that is found in the normal diets of humans and almost all other animals. OptiMSM™ provides an excellent source of Sulphur. The adult body contains around 100g representing 4 times the level of Magnesium. Many diets are deficient in Sulphur due to the excess consumption of processed foods.

MSM supports healthy, active lifestyles and benefits cartilage, ligaments and tendons and may assist muscle discomfort associated with prolonged exercise and tension.
